Joseph Mills claims he wouldn’t have signed a new two-year contract with Reading if he didn’t believe he would become a first-team regular.

Mills joined from Southampton in August on a season-long deal, but after forcing his way into Royals’ side earlier in the campaign, Brian McDermott saw enough to secure the 22-year-old’s services until the summer of 2014.
