Wokingham's new station link road is only the beginning for highway improvements to the town, with plans in the pipeline for a new road across Elms Field, extending Woosehill spine road and closing the railway station level crossing.

A consultation on the new link road between Station Road and Reading Road began last week, with information showing the major overhaul of traffic flow around the station will cut journey times by up to 56 per cent.
