A controversial application for a cash machine at a village centre supermarket has been withdrawn.
Twyford’s Tesco Express store had put in a planning application for a machine on the shop front of its London Road store.
Parish councillors welcomed the decision at a Twyford Parish Council meeting in Loddon Hall last Tuesday, but expressed their surprise the application had been recommended for approval by Wokingham Borough Council officers.
The parish council had raised several concerns about the proposal, claiming it would increase pavement parking and parking on double yellow lines, and questioned the need for another ATM in the village.
