New Wokingham Nando's is peri-peri popular

February 29, 2012

The latest addition to Wokingham’s array of restaurants is Nando’s, which opened its doors last Wednesday, February 22.

Town mayor Councillor Peter Lucey performed the opening ceremony assisted by Emma Wayman, a Nando’s fan who had written to the chicken chain asking to cut the ribbon.

The 100-seater restaurant occupies one half of the former New Rose pub premises in Market Place and has created 20 jobs.

Its neighbour is bistro Cafe Rouge.

Ben Hibbard, Nando’s regional manager said: “We are delighted to finally have a restaurant in Wokingham.

“Whether you’re spice crazy or prefer the softer lemon and herb combo there’s something for everyone.

“It’s a beautiful new restaurant in a great location and with a fantastic team, and we cannot wait to start serving up delicious peri-peri chicken.”

People were campaigning for this?! Dry tasteless chicken and horrible chips, well done you...

I don't fancy queuing for ages then have to pay up front. At Pizza Express etc you can pace yourself, order extra drinks as and when and don't feel pressured to leave to make room! I wont be going!

Visited Nando's on Sunday - Staff very friendly if not a little overawed by numbers. However, having No Burgers Buns, Green Salads, Olives, Mushrooms etc is a poor show IMHO!
