Train line to Waterloo closed due to bridge damage

November 16, 2009

Commuters are facing long delays this week after part of the railway line to London Waterloo was closed.

Flood damage to a railway bridge near Feltham is disrupting some South West Trains services.

Passengers who travel along this route - Reading to Waterloo via Staines and Richmond – are being warned they may experience longer than normal journey times and are advised to use alternative routes where possible.

Rail lines between Feltham and Whitton and between Feltham and Hounslow are closed until further notice. The line between Twickenham, Whitton and Hounslow remains open.

A very limited replacement bus service will operate between Feltham, Whitton and Twickenham. However, passengers are advised journeys are expected to be affected by congestion on the roads.

Full details of alternative travel arrangements for Monday are available on the South West Trains website.

Details of the amended service for Tuesday to Friday (November 17 to 20) can be found here.
