As temperatures fall sales at Waitrose rise

As freezing temperatures hit Waitrose's sales across the country rose by 12.3 per cent as shoppers kept warm with comfort foods.

Trading for the week ending Saturday, February 4, revealed customers stocked up on store cupboard staples including long-life milk, up 24 per cent, canned soup, up 30 per cent and hot beverages, up 17 per cent.
