Award for ace Hodgson

Paul Hodgson was named London Irish’s Player of the Season at a glittering awards ceremony at Stamford Bridge.

The award capped a memorable season for the popular dynamic scrum-half who made his 100th appearance for the club in February and received his first England cap in March.

The ceremony also saw Sailosi Tagicakibau collect two awards for Players’ Player of the Season and Try of the Season.

Former London Irish, Ireland and British and Irish Lions centre Barrie Bresnihan was the latest former player to be inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame.


The full list of awards was: Academy Player of the Season: Jon Fisher; Players’ Player: Sailosi Tagicakibau; Best Forward: David Paice; Best Back: Delon Armitage; Hall of Fame Award: Barrie Bresnihan; Best Newcomer: Peter Hewat; Try of the Season: Sailosi Tagicakibau; Player of the Season: Paul Hodgson.
