Jonathan Joseph to start for London Irish following England omission

Jonathan Joseph goes straight into the London Irish starting line-up for tomorrow night's LV=Cup tie at Cardiff Blues following his omission from the England squad.

Joesph, who was left out of Stuart Lancaster's plans for Saturday's Six Nations opener with Scotland, will join Guy Armitage at centre for the game at Arms Park (7.30pm).

Kieran Low will partner Bryn Evans in the second row, while Mike Mayhew will start at hooker for the second week running.

Director of rugby Brian Smith said of the tie, where Irish need a bonus point win to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the competition: "Cardiff will be a formidable challenge tomorrow evening, especially on their home patch and the squad is well aware of that.

"We know what is at stake and our destiny is in our own hands."
