Citing of London Irish forward Stowers is dismissed

London Irish back-row forward George Stowers is free to take part in the autumn internationals after his citing for a dangerous tackle was dismissed.

The Samoa captain was called before his second Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing of the season on Monday after being cited for a tackle on Sale Sharks flanker David Seymour while playing for Exiles in the Aviva Premiership.

But the case against Stowers, who scored a crucial try during his side's 39-26 win at Madejski Stadium on October 31, was dismissed by RFU disciplinary chief Judge Jeff Blackett.

Stowers, who has been playing No. 8 for London Irish this season, was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Bath full-back Nick Abendanon in September.

But he escaped a ban at the subsequent hearing as Judge Blackett decided the red card was sufficient punishment.
