Steffon misses out as London Irish reach for the top

January 08, 2010

Steffon Armitage will miss London Irish’s Guinness Premiership clash at Worcester Warriors tomorrow, which kicks off an hour earlier at 2pm.

The England flanker  is being rested in accordance with the Elite squad agreement. Richard Thorpe looks set to return in the back row as Samoa skipper George Stowers is still troubled by an ankle injury.

Scrum-half Peter Richards is available for selection again following a groin injury but there is still a doubt concerning centre Elvis Seveali’i, who missed last Saturday’s game at Northampton Saints due to a training ground injury.

The kick-off for tomorrow’s game has been brought forward to allow the game to be played in all available sunlight.

Four of the league’s six fixtures this weekend have already been postponed, but the game at Sixways was given the go-ahead yesterday after consultations.
