Super-sub Adam Le Fondre is making a name for himself all around the world.

Reading boss Brian McDermott is likely to carry on leaving the 26-year-old hot-shot on the bench, despite refererring to him as one of the most talked about players in world football.

Le Fondre has netted an amazing five goals in his last 68 minutes on the pitch to help Royals climb out of the relegation zone.

McDermott said: "He's probably one of the most well-known people around the world at this moment in time.

"I would imagine that in the middle of nowhere they are talking about Adam Le Fondre.

"You don't realise because you live on this little island here, because it's a small place.

"But Asia is big, America is big. . . one of our scouts was in Argentina the other day watching some under-20s action.

"He went to a bar and Reading v West Brom was on live in Argentina - it's incredible."

And McDermott also admitted that it wasn't easy leaving such an in-form player on the bench all the time.

He added: "He's one of the leading top English goal-scorers in the country.

"It's hard for me, I'm trying to find a way to get the best out of the group to get a result.

"We have a certain way of doing it and as it happens at the moment Alfie is coming off the bench."
