Reading FC looking at Stopilla Sunzu
January 14, 2013
Zambia centre-back Stopilla Sunzu's transfer to Reading is back on as he makes his way to England for a medical at Madejski Stadium.
“Sunzu is heading to Reading for tests after the agreement by TP Mazembe and the Zambia Federation," said Mazembe president Moses Katumbi.
"He just sent us a message in which he thanked the club."
Sunzu is then expected to return home where he has been called up by Zambia for their African Cup of Nations campaign.
Reading boss Brian McDermott told the Post last month: "Stoppy was here when he was a kid.
"It's a possibility that we might have a look at him for a week. He's a good lad."

We were the first Club to confirm interest, why didn't we sign him? I bet we didn't want to pay a transfer fee!

If you take a step back and look at the season so far, we're capable of scoring goals, (putting 5 past the Arsenal, 3 past United, 2 past Chelsea) The problem is that those teams contrived to stick 15 goals in our net between them. Other stats highlighted on here have shown that reading allow the opposition more shots on goal than most other top flight teams all over Europe.
Let's just draw a parallel here. You are a surgeon, and the patient has a badly severed artery. Ok, you can hook the patient up to transfused blood to prevent him bleeding to death, but surely it is obvious that the solution to this is to address the laceration.
Brian is learning, albeit slowly. His first action was to ditch the suicidal "traditional" 4-4-2, (Sunderland, Wigan)and get the wingers to help cover our deficiencies in defence. We were much more solid, and difficult to play against (Man City).
The unfortunate consequence of doing this is that it leaves a lone striker with a thankless task, and effectively nullifies us as an attacking threat.
What the club is trying to do now is to stiffen up the defence, and the defencive midfield, so that it releases players like Kebe to "do what they want" further up the pitch, and support Pog and ALF.
It's coming together. Be patient. Whether it's going to be enough, or early enough, who knows?

For example Roberts last played 08th Dec and has played 12 times this year and no goals. Hes a striker paid good money.
Bent has always been overated lets be honest, when he played for England he was rubbish (like most of the England. He goals record could be matched by many average strikers. We will have to try up and coming players thats always a gamble we all know that but most of lets make sure they are available most of the time.

By all accounts Stoppy is a good player that has raised interest from a few other clubs too and let's face it, we're short in defence, especially if Pearce doesn't want to sign. Plus he's got history with RFC which we should take advantage of if we can.
With 2 weeks to go how do you know if we are/aren't going in for a creative midfielder??
As for Bent...I'd have him at RFC in a flash, bit too pricey for us though. Would like to the stats that he's failed at every club.

Darren Bent hes failed at every club hes been too, he will just cost the club a fortune in wages aswell. We must stop buying players who are on good money at the club always injured. Whats the point for example of having a striker on good money who dosent play much because of injuries and when he does he cant score.
PLEASE READING FC BEFORE YOU SIGN ANYONE CHECK THEIR SICKNESS/INJURY RECORD
