Sunzu's move to Reading FC on hold after Zambia call-up

By Jonny Fordham
December 23, 2012

Stopilla Sunzu's move to Reading has been put in doubt after the centre-back was called up to Zambia's African Cup of Nations squad.

The 23-year-old, who has previously had trials at Madejski Stadium, was expected to fly to England in January for a trial.

However, the TP Mazembe man's international call-up means it is unlikely Royals will be able to have a good look at him during the coming window and will have to wait until later in the year.

Reading boss Brian McDermott told the Post: "Stoppy was here when he was a kid.

"It's a possibility that we might have a look at him for a week. He's a good lad."

Whether cav007 likes Reading FC or not is completely irrelevant. He has demonstrated consistently over a number of weeks that his knowledge of football can easily be fitted onto the back of a postage stamp so its best just ignore his demented ramblings.

Are we (fans) really now down to getting excited solely about a player having a trial. Things must have degenerated more at board/director level than I thought.

Trying to con the fans again in to thinking we are on the verge of signing better players. Same old Reading, we spent less than anyone else that is why we are bottom and will get relegated by the end of March. The second worst team in history just behind Derby.

You think our problem is scoring! Are you mad? We do take.a fair few of.the small number of chances we create. PEARCE fluffed a sitter on Saturday and that was it. We have struggled to create from open play all season.

Hsve a look.at the goals against colemn. That is awful. We need to tighten up and use the ball more wisely. We are not good enough to attack in numbers like we did last season. Teams have picked us off. I ptefer tighter ganes with a goal or two max.

Fair play to Redknapp? That fat mouth is already looking for a way out of QPR.

Up for debate, lost. You must looking through rose tinted bottle ends at what is going on in the club. New chairman in the club not enough investment as usual.

Thought he would have been a lot smarter by looking what happened in the past premiership outing RFC had last time around.

So just enjoy xmas and the new year, look forward to the championship next season yohoho.

Its not over yet but we do need to get rid of the bench warmers who only play now and again.

Its every man to be counted, will Roberts ever score another goal for Reading this year.

(thats the problem we need goals).

Look at rednapp fair play to him hes saying just what hes thinking. Sometimes if you cant take the heat in the kitchen P*** off

@ cav007..you obviously don't like RFC or anything connected to it. Stop leaving such negative ***p all the time. The clubs around us are all equally poor and I still believe that we will put up a credible fight, If you don't then that's fine but perhaps you should go back to supporting someone else.

In other words, he's now in the shop window and bigger clubs will come calling. Brilliant.

Does he want to play for a club who are going back down to the championship next season????? You have left it to late McD the horse has bolted no good shutting the stable door now. Just enjoy the time left in the premiership people.
