Reading FC U21s 3 Norwich City U21s 0

October 22, 2012

Join Royals reporter Jonny Fordham live from Madejski Stadium as Reading's Under-21s face Norwich City tonight (7pm kick-off).

Managed by coach Chris Cummins, the Royals young guns are in search of their first win since defeating the Canaries 3-0 away on September 3.

Out-of-favour striker Simon Church could once again take to the field as an over-age player.

The Wales forward will be looking to add to his three goals for the side and force his way into Brian McDermott's first-team plans.

Two goals against Norwich U21 and suddenly this young striker with 0 minutes of league experience is going to be our saviour - no pressure then!

Also it appears that even in Thailand now there are armchair tactical geniuses who think they know better than a UEFA Pro Licenced qualified coach who has taken his team to a Play Off final and then to a Championship title and who has the undisputed respect of his entire first team squad. I always thought travel broadened the mind but obviously that isn't always the case........

With our current lack of goal scorers in the first team surely now would be a good time to draft Samuel into the squad for the Fulham game? If he's good enough he's old enough, just look at the likes of Sterling for Liverpool.

Put some of these young guys in the 1st team squad for Saturday, cannot be worse than what we saw at Liverpool, ( BM if you think we were unlucky not to get a point at anfield you should consider a career change to a stand up comedian)

This Samuel guy increasingly seems to look a bit handy! Maybe our future Zaha / Moses /Sterling ?

When will McD introduce youngsters to the first team. None were given any league time last season.
