The statistics and controversy are what makes football. Without either the game would be dead. RFC take and they dish out, no more no less. Let the contest begin and if we survive in the premier by foul or fair means, I shall be one happy chappy. This is a business and NOT a sport.

RBC - the cheat was chucked out, that would never happen in football.

Tilidie - several times in every match is different to several times over a packed programme of sports involving thousands of athletes over many sports.

There were very few abuses of officials in the Olympics - count how many times officials decisions are disputed on Saturday.

There were several times during the olmypics that a less than sportmanship like attitude was to be witnessed.

I've just read that one of the "true professionals of the olympics" has had her gold medal taken away for failing a drugs test.

So these 'heros' don't cheat then.........?

People are seriously questioning the sportsmanship of our players after the displays seen from West Ham and Leeds etc last season?

Nobodies perfect but I doubt many clubs we played last season would have put us down anywhere near as "worst offenders." We might even be the only club next season without a player who has been disgraced in the media in some way... unless of course anyone has the same sexual habits as Leroy Lita did? My money would be on Noel Hunt for some reason...

Fair comment champs...the Olympics has highlighted how sport should be played and I'm sure will humble a few players who can grasp true sportsmanship.

I don't think of RFC being poor sports, in fact I'm quite proud of our players behavior on & off the pitch, so have no problem next Sat. The task is, not sink to level of others.

Champs. "As a season ticket holder at Reading I have mixed emotions for next Saturday".

IMO, and I am in total agreement with you........... GIVE IT UP!!!!! Next Saturday is not the best suited place to be for the confused.

I hope the management and footballers at Reading and all other clubs have learnt from the true professionals of the olympics.

These real heroes don't dive, (cheat) -(why does McD allow a particular forward to come on as a substitute and jump into a defender and fall in a heap on the ground), feign injury, abuse officials or abuse opposition players.

As a season ticket holder at Reading I have mixed emotions for next Saturday - I dare say all the bad traits of both teams will be on show.

If watching football and supporting RFC for over 40 years wasn't a drug perhaps I would give it up!!!

Reading still need some more depth and experience of premiership players in the squad. Another two premiership signing would be great midfield and another back.
