Michail Antonio has finally completed his transfer to Sheffield Wednesday for a fee believed to be around £700,000.
It is understood that Royals will have to pass on a substantial amount of that cash to Antonio's old club Tooting and Mitcham after selling the former non-league star.
Antonio, who signed a four-year deal at Hillsborough, played 14 times for the Owls last season, scoring five times.
He said: : “I have been waiting patiently for this move all summer and I am so pleased it has gone through. Everything comes to those who wait.
“Winning promotion with Sheffield Wednesday last season was something I will never forget.
“Wednesday fans have been encouraging me all summer to sign and they have played a massive part in this move.
“I would like to say thank you to all of them and now I can focus on next season and helping Wednesday succeed in the Championship.”
Antonio only made four starts for Reading since joining in 2008 and also enjoyed a successful loan spell at Southampton.
Director of Football Nick Hammond added: “It’s a good move for Michail, he’s going to a big club with good people – and he did a great job for them last year.
“He wants to play regularly and we understand that, so this is a good deal for both parties, we wish him all the best."
