Danny Guthrie: Reading FC finding their rhythm

Danny Guthrie feels that Reading are finding their rhythm ahead of the Premier League kick-off.

With the Stoke City game less than three weeks away, Royals are looking to fine-tune their game ready for August 18.

Although they couldn't produce a victory in Portugal, Brian McDermott's side left the Algarve on the back of a solid 1-1 draw against a tough-tackling SC Olhanense outfit, in which Guthrie scored.

"It was great to get 90 minutes as it's been a while and the goal topped it off," said the midfielder.

"It was a good run out and we want to start putting things together now.

"We have a few games under our belt now and in our last match in Portugal we had a good shape about us and were trying to do the right things."

Reading have a full week of training before their next friendly at AFC Bournemouth on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

McDermott is likely to draft in goalkeeper Adam Federici for his first pre-season game and midfielder Jem Karacan has an outside chance of playing against the club where he had a successful loan spell at during the 2007/08 season.
