Reading FC open to player offers

By Jonny Fordham
November 23, 2011

Royals are open to temporary offers for their fringe players before the loan window shuts at 5pm tomorrow night.

Manager Brian McDermott told the Post last week that he would allow striker Cedric Baseya to leave the club if a suitor came in for him.

And assistant manager Nigel Gibbs said yesterday: “There might be a couple of young players who go out to get some experience.

"Apart from that I don’t think there will be too much movement.”

@Dr Watson - Back up, we're woefully short on Centre Backs....if Pearce and Gorkss get injured....(I don't even wanna think about it).

Striker/Creative midfielder in. Letting fringe players out is good for balancing the books and keeping them sharp, but not so good for competition to first team stalwarts.

I'd also ask why we still have the lad from Spurs on our books, if he can't get a game with us.

@ 72 Woodley - agree we need a goalscorer. Perhaps a keen young Premiership lad could do with a run out, and liven our lot up a bit.

Should we not be worrying about who is going but who is coming, we need a goal scorer.
