Hal Robson-Kanu is looking to repay the faith shown in him by manager Brian McDermott.

Robson-Kanu earned his third start of the season in the 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough and has since linked up with the Wales squad ahead of their two international fixtures.

“It’s always nice when the manager shows that faith in you and I look to continue to repay him,” said the 22-year-old winger.

“I think I’m always showing what I can contribute so it’s just about playing games now.

“It would have been nice to get the win against Boro, but it was a massive team performance and team effort. We kept strong and in the end earned the draw.

“We’ve got eight points from four games now and we’re looking to kick on.”

Robson-Kanu is with Royals team-mate Simon Church in the international scene and both could play their part in games against Switzerland and Bulgaria.

And he added: “Hopefully I will be involved, get some game time and then I can come back to Reading ready for the next game. It’s nice to get away and experience international football.”
