LIVE: Transfer deadline day special

August 31, 2011

Reading manager Brian McDermott expects a quiet transfer deadline day at Madejski Stadium.

Despite insisting star winger Jimmy Kebe is going nowhere, reports circulated last night that Leicester City had bid £4m for the 27-year-old who is out of contract next summer.

And the Reading Post also understands Royals are interested in a possible loan move for Chelsea’s talented midfielder Jacob Mellis.

Rumours are that negotiations are ongoing and may include a player exchange?

Interesting -- EP seem to be the only publication featuring a story about a £4m bid for Kebe or the potential loan for Mellis -- A scoop or perhaps rumours to make this feature more interesting - maybe I'm just being cynical!
