Jimmy Kebe has revealed he would like to return to France one day and play in their top division.

“I would be really happy to play in Ligue 1,” said the Royals star.

In an interview to a football website in France, Kebe talked about his two years at Reading, while revealing he was open to offers.

The 26-year-old Mali winger also disclosed that he had been told that some English Premier League clubs were interested in his services.

When asked if he would be tempted to play in France again, Kebe said: “Definitely. I wouldn’t be against returning.

“I never really got a break in France and had to go abroad. But now I would be open to offers. I would be really happy to play in Ligue 1.

“I have heard of some interest from the Premier League and Ligue 1.”

Kebe has had a turbulent relationship with Royals fans since joining Reading from Lens in January 2008.

The wide man is often criticised for his lack of consistency, but his fortunes have changed lately as boss Brian McDermott has managed to bring the best out of him.

“This season there have been lots of changes of players and staff. It hasn’t been easy,” said Kebe.

“At the beginning I wasn’t playing much, but it’s getting better. I’ve scored some goals and the manager is happy, so I hope it continues.”

Kebe also admitted that the language barrier is still a problem for him.

“I don’t speak a word of English and that’s not easy,” he confessed.

“Everyone I’ve met has been okay, though, and the driving and food is all right too – although I have to eat pasta at 10am on matchdays, which is different to France.”

Royals will be keen to keep hold of the pacy winger, who is under contract to the club until the summer of 2012.

And Kebe added that despite the cultural differences in this country, he has no regrets about making the switch across the Channel.

“In England we play every three days and it’s different to France, but I enjoy it,” he said.

“English football is exactly like how people told me.”

Two years in a foreign country and he can't even speak a word! Either poor reporting or he's as lazy as his defensive duties used to be. Given his recent form we can ill afford to lose him, so let's show him lots of amour. He seems to respond to that. Je t'adore Jimmy!
