Adam Federici aims to make Doncaster green with envy
By Jonny FordhamFebruary 02, 2010
Adam Federici would love to leave Doncaster Rovers as green with envy as his new boots after the sides square up on Saturday (5.20pm kick-off, live on SkySports 1).
Royals travel to the Keepmoat for the Championship clash against Sean O’Driscoll’s 13th-placed side in the first of Brian McDermott’s six league games in February.
And armed with his new shot-stopping lime-green boots, Australian keeper Federici has targeted an unbeaten night in Yorkshire in front of the TV cameras.
The 24-year-old said: “I’m happy with the new boots, they are a bit bright, but green is my favourite colour and I’ve got two clean-sheets with them on at the Mad Stad so I’ll keep wearing them.
“We’ve got a good group of games coming up and we need to win the majority of them, if not all of them.”
Following on from the trip to Rovers the games come thick and fast for new man McDermott, who then must prepare for the visits of Plymouth on Tuesday night and West Brom in the fifth round of the FA Cup a week on Saturday.
With the squad no longer in limbo after the appointment of McDermott a week ago tomorrow, Federici admitted that things were finally starting to look up.
Royals had a troublesome time at home in 2009, but after picking up a second consecutive clean-sheet at the Mad Stad in only their second home league win of the season, Federici was confident of climbing up the table and adding to their points tally.
He added: “It’s great for everyone, defensively we were very strong against Barnsley, it’s been an area that has let us down in the last couple of months, so it’s great to get another clean sheet at home.
“We’re trying to get back to making this place a fortress and we’re going about it the right way.
“Slowly but surely we’re getting there, this place used to be one that people feared coming to and we’re getting back to that. The mood is high and we need to carry that onto next week.”

We are a poor side - we play on grass not in cloud cuckoo land.
I will support them whichever league they are in - however they are where they are for a reason and there will be a lot more cloth cutting for next season when there are no more parachute payments.

We have some winable games coming up and those teams around us have some harder ones. Keep to form going and keep the confidence and we should be ok.
Come on you RRRRRRRRzzzzzz!!!

Why is everyone so doom and gloom? We have had a bad first half of the season, but things are looking up and we have a couple of winable games coming up. Can't people be positive? A couple of wins in the league and things will suddenly look a lot better.
