Marcus Hahnemann - 6 - Wasn’t called into action too often and had little chance with either goal. Distribution was much improved. Commanded area well.
Julian Kelly - 7 - Superb cross for Reading’s second goal, but had little chance to attack after break. Solid defensively and his pace helped team out of trouble.
Michael Duberry - 6 - Won majority of aerial challenges but just failed to cut out Blackpool’s equaliser. Comfortable enough against Lee Hughes. Positioning was good.
Andre Bikey - 6 - Turned far too easily by DJ Campbell in build-up to equaliser. Dominated apart from that as Blackpool failed to create many clear-cut chances.
Chris Armstrong - 7 - Made crucial last-ditch interceptions and offered good outlet down left. Nothing got past him and he won majority of 50-50 challenges.
Jimmy Kebe - 6 - Linked up well with Julian Kelly in first half but had little impact after the break. Most effective when passing quickly rather than going on long run.
Jen Karacan - 7 - In right place to turn the ball in after Noel Hunt had struck the bar. Provided plenty of energy in midfield and always looked to put Royals on attack.
Jay Tabb - 7 - Retained possession well and thundered into every challenge. Protected back four from attacks through the middle and controlled game with Karacan.
Stephen Hunt - 6 - Almost scored from inswinging free-kick that evaded everyone. Looked lively and more involved than in recent games. Just could not find killer pass.
Shane Long - 6 - Harried the defence and held ball up well but didn’t cause too much of a problem. Moved to right when Dave Kitson came on, but didn’t see much of ball.
Noel Junt - 8 - Headed in Jem Karacan’s corner to open scoring and was involved in build-up to the second goal too. Never gave Blackpool defence a moment’s peace.
Dave Kitson - 6 - Provided aerial threat in box, but didn’t get much of an opportunity to score.
Glen Little - 5 - Almost created chance at the end, but spent too long on the ball and was eventually crowded out.
