Rosenior shrugs off injury

16/ 9/2008

Rosenior is confident he will be fit for tomorrow night’s home clash against Sheffield Wednesday.

The Reading right-back injured his ankle in the closing stages of Saturday’s disappointing 2-0 defeat at Ipswich Town.

But he said: “I’m not too bad. I twisted my ankle in the last five minutes but I should be fine for tomorrow.”

Royals will do all they can to ensure Rosenior is fit as their regular right-back, skipper Graeme Murty, has only just recovered from a calf strain and is not up to match speed yet.

Reading didn’t deserve anything from Saturday’s match, but Rosenior insists things could have been different had winger Jimmy Kebe taken an early chance.

Rosenior added: “I thought we started brightly and Jimmy had a great chance to put us in the lead and I thought we were in control.

“In the second half they came out quicker and stronger than us and to be fair it was a fantastic goal, their first goal. After that their confidence went up and we couldn’t get back into the game.”
