Sodje's days are numbered

Nick Ive

Sam Sodje's days at Reading look numbered after Steve Coppell told him: “It may be in your best interests to leave.”

Royals have plenty of options at centre-back with Ivar Ingimarsson, Michael Duberry, Ibrahima Sonko, Alex Pearce, Kalifa Cisse, Andre Bikey and Alan Bennett on the books.

It take guts, for a manager, to say something so rude about a player.

Mr Coppell ,no doubt,is a football guy,and a very good one at that, until next game.

But saying to a player that had minimal appearances in a gloomy season for his team, that he is the last in line after a whole lot of others,is unethical at least.

Stevie boy, what do you have to say about your" poor' coaching of the team last season.? Was relegation the product of your choices or not? Why on earth the board kept you at the helm? To coach poorly again, and choose your team not so correctly or do you think that you are the first in line, unlike Sodje,of a whole lot of managers. Some say that when failure strikes a man must show some kind of self respect and simply resign?
