Lovelock is lone survivor following mass exodus at Reading TownBy Dave Wright

Teenage midfielder Jordan Lovelock is likely to be the only senior player to stay with Reading Town from last season’s first-team squad.
The rest have left Scours Lane, with most following the club’s former manager Mark Bartley to Hellenic League rivals Marlow.
A few have also been training with Maidenhead United and Cove. But new manager Michael Butcher is unlikely to be short of replacements as he looks to rebuild the team.
“We have had 25 to 30 players training,” he said.
“But with no reserve team and a small budget, I won’t be able to sign them all on.
“We have a number of friendlies arranged which will give me time to find what I think will be the strongest team.”
Town, who appointed Craig Drummond to their coaching staff, play their first pre-season friendly at North Gloucestershire League side Westbury United on Saturday, followed next Tuesday by a trip to Spartan South Midlands League club Harefield United.
Town, whose opening Hellenic League fixture is at Witney on Tuesday August 7, must wait to see who they will take on in the League Cup.
Having received a bye in round one, they will take on either Wantage or Wootton Bassett in round two at Scours Lane.
Newly-promoted Highmoor-Ibis will be away to either Kidlington or Maidenhead United reserves.
Other first round ties include: Woodley v Abingdon Town, AFC Hinksey v Wokingham & Emmbrook, Cheltenham Saracens v Finchampstead, Cricklade v Ascot, Didcot v Shrivenham, Henley v Lydney, Lambourn v Holyport, Thatcham Reserves v New College Swindon, Witney v Bracknell.
