Young footballers showed off their skills and fancy footwork at the annual Woodley primary schools’ cup competition.
South Lake’s boys and Rivermead’s girls were the winners, and all who took part received a medal from town mayor Councillor Coling Lawley.
Cllr Lawley said: “It was a thoroughly entertaining afternoon with all the players showing how much they enjoyed the competition.
“It was refreshing to watch sporting matches between teams free of the usual fouls, and playing the game for the fun of it.”
The Sid Hopkins Easter Cup competition was played at Woodford Park at Easter.
Ed Whitesmith, sports officer at Woodford Park Leisure Centre said: “Every player competed strongly and fairly, which resulted in a spirited tournament atmosphere and a great afternoon of football.”
