Eversley FC 3 Frimley Green FC 0
October 31, 2011
Eversley closed the gap on Bedfont, the side sitting second in Combined Counties Division 1, with a comfortable win over Frimley Green.
Bradley Cann opened the scoring for the Boars on three minutes with a brilliant solo effort.
Cann picked the ball up 35 yards out and beat two defenders before calmly finding the corner.
The home side dominated the opening 30 minutes as both Matt Baker and Mat Stamp missed from close range.
Cann’s late runs from midfield were causing Frimley constant problems and it was from one of these that the home side went two up on the half-hour mark.
After playing a neat one-two with Stamp, Cann once again found the corner.
The second half followed a similar pattern with Eversley once again on top.
And skipper James Reeves grabbed his second in as many games with a toe poke from a corner that the visiting team failed to clear.
Just as it looked as though the Boars would gallop away to a handsome victory, Steve Taylor was dismissed for violent conduct, forcing his side to shut up shop and protect what they had.
Credit must go to Frimley Green who had a real go, bringing two excellent saves out of Asen Ogov in the home goal.
The game then fizzled out to a bitty last quarter until the dying seconds when Marc Kleboe brought down Simmons in the box.
But again Frimley Green were foiled by Ogov with an excellent penalty save for the Boars first clean sheet in eight games.
