Binfield FC 2 Chalfont St Peter FC 3By Colin Byers

Aiming for a good run in the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy, Binfield faced a tough porposition against opponents who are dominating the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division, winning 17 out of 17 so far.
With Ian Davies back from suspension and leading the line alongside Garry Sargeant, the Moles were 2-0 up mid-way through the first half following a side-footed finish from Sargeant and then a penalty from Jack Tallentire after a handball from Kyle Jeffrey.
But it was all downhill from there as Chalfont scored twice in the last 90 seconds of the first half, both from uncontested headers in the six-yard box from Terrell Lewis, to go in at half-time level.
Tallentire almost restored the lead seconds after the restart, but his goal was ruled out for offside.
It was a double blow for the impressive midfielder, as he suffered a back injury in the process and was replaced by Carl Withers minutes later.
As the second half wore on, the Moles found it difficult to make any headway against a solid back line and Chalfont got the goal their display deserved on 76 minutes as Ben Stack placed well into the bottom corner.
The Saints continued to create chances and only some desperate defending and good stops from keeper Chris Adams kept the score down as Binfield poured forward looking for an equaliser.
Their best chance came from a Withers corner to the near post as Callaway rose superbly to beat his marker, but his header flashed across goal and was cleared.
Binfield entertain in-form neighbours, Wokingham & Emmbrook in the Hellenic Supplementary Cup on Saturday, looking to end their recent run of confidence-sapping defeats.
Binfield: Adams, Callaway, Jamil, Millward, Shone, Tallentire (Withers 50), Walsh (Wing 78), Suarez, Davies, Sargeant, Williams. Subs not used: Bookless, Partridge.
