Binfield maintained the only 100-per-cent home record in the Hellenic Premier Division with a confidence-boosting win against Carterton on Saturday.

Mark Tallentire gave a start to goalkeeper Dan Weait, with new signing Jean Pierre Jamil making the bench alongside Ryan Millward following an inury lay-off.

Looking to put the recent 6-2 defeat to Carterton behind them, Binfield started very brightly and were ahead on 12 minutes when Ian Davies finished a fine move.

Davies then doubled the lead on 28 minutes, beating the offside trap and slotting past the onrushing keeper.

Carterton remained competitive, but created little to worry the Binfield defence up to half time.

Despite a few second-half jitters in defence, the Moles created chances to extend the lead, with Tim Walsh, James Rogers and Carl Davies all missing opportunities to finish off their Oxfordshire opponents.

Binfield’s seventh home win of the season sets them up very nicely for the midweek trip to Old Woodstock Town.

Binfield: Weait, Partridge, Fenton  (JP Jamil 65), Shone, Callaway, Walsh, Withers, Suarez, Williams (Rogers 60), I Davies, C Davies (Sargeant 80) Subs not used; Millward, Adams
