Midweek defeats for local Football Clubs

January 28, 2010

It was a sorry midweek for the other teams in the area with Bracknell Town, Binfield and Ascot United all losing.

In Zamaretto Division 1 South & West, Bracknell Town’s hopes of avoiding relegation took a nose-dive with a 4-1 loss at league rivals Cinderford Town.

Cinderford had only eight points to their name at the beginning of the night, but a hat-trick from Sam O’Sullivan, with another coming from Kyle Bassett saw the Gloucestershire side home.

A late goal from Danny Blatchford was scant consolation for the Robins.

Elsewhere, Binfield suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss at home to Flackwell Heath in the Hellenic Premier Division on Monday night.

Stuart McLellen scored the ony goal on 32 minutes.

Then on Tuesday, Ascot were on the receiving end of a 3-1 defeat at Wantage Town.

Sam McIntyre did give the Yellamen the lead after 15 minutes, but Wantage fought back and goals from Matty Horsell, Richard Claydon and Danny Keen sealed the win.
