Sargeant returns to the Robins

September 23, 2009

New Bracknell Town boss Dave Tuttle has stuck by his pledge to attract local players to Larges Lane by convincing former striker Garry Sargeant to rejoin the club.

Sargeant (right) enjoyed a successful spell at Larges Lane, but spent last season at near neighbours Binfield and played a crucial role in their Hellenic Division 1 East title-winning season, finishing as the team’s top scorer.

However, Sargeant has found his chances limited in the Hellenic Premier this season, and with Steve McClurg seemingly favouring Jermaine Gumbs and James Rodgers up front, he decided to look elsewhere.

And after Sargeant scored a hat-trick for Bracknell reserves in their 3-0 defeat of Newport Pagnall on Saturday, Tuttle acted quickly to sign up the forward, who is expected to make his debut in the rearranged Southern League Division 1 South & West game at Yate Town on Saturday.
