Sandhurst FC took all three points with a fine second-half display at home against local rivals Cove FC at Bottom Meadow in the Combined Counties Premier Division on Saturday.
In a lacklustre first half, neither side created any real chances, resulting in honours even at half time.
The second half was an altogether different affair, and the Fizzers took the lead on 61 minutes when striker Mark Corbett skillfully headed a ball delivered by Danny Wilde over the advancing Cove keeper.
The Fizzers lead did not last long and, as in previous weeks, a goalmouth scramble following a corner was finished off by Matty Barratt on 65 minutes.
For the first time in some weeks Jon Underwood had options up front with Corbett, Wilde and Czatska maintaining a constant threat on the Cove goal.
Corbett came close on 75 minutes as he fired wide from a Wilde centre.
He was finally rewarded for his efforts with a fine individual run into the box, beating two defenders to fire home convincingly over the head of the Cove keeper.
Corbett had the chance of a hat-trick on 85 minutes when awarded a penalty, but scuffed his shot, allowing the Cove keeper to make a good save.
Underwood, the Fizzers manager, said: “It was a very important three points as we seek to move up the league into safety.
“We did not play at our best, but got the result that mattered and created chances, which is encouraging going forward.”
Sandhurst face a tough game against league leaders Bedfont Green at Bottom Meadow on Saturday (kick off 3pm).
