Bracknell Town FC 1 Burnham FC 2By Darrell Freeland

Bracknell Town FC were sent back to the bottom of the league table as Burnham FC ran out winners by the odd goal in three at Larges Lane on Tuesday night.
The evening was tarnished further by Ian Harvey’s second-half dismissal for a straight red card, although Adam Theo for the visitors can count himself lucky he did not receive the same treatment.
Burnham took the lead inside 60 seconds as Gavin James - who was on loan at Larges Lane earlier this season - surged past Ray Curtis and his shot cannoned back off the post but Jordan Dowdican was well placed to fire home despite the best efforts of Michael Buck on the goal-line.
The Robins drew level seven minutes later, however, as Chris Geary’s drive struck Richard Witt’s leg and looped over stranded goalkeeper Sam Southerden.
Witt scored the winning goal in the 15th minute as his low shot went through the legs of Sean James and past the unsighted Max Aneke into the far corner.
After a dismal first half, Bracknell improved significantly in the second as Ben Edwards was brought into the fold.
Jamie Clarke almost equalised in the 63rd minute as Burnham failed to clear their lines following a corner and his shot on the turn found Southerden from close range.
Harvey – who was booked in the first half – was shown a straight red card for lashing out at Simon Goodhram.
Aneke then denied James with a triple save as the striker couldn’t find a way past the giant shot stopper.
With the seconds ticking away, Keith Newby hauled down Theo, but despite Theo reacting by grabbing Newby round the throat, the referee showed his inconsistency by only booking Theo.
The Robins misery was compounded as wins for Andover and Winchester City saw them leapfrog over now basement side Bracknell.
Byron Walton’s side now travel to league leaders AFC Totton in a game which on paper they will not get anything from, then it’s three home games on the spin and the Robins will need to turn Larges Lane into a fortress if they are to move away from bottom place.
Bracknell Town: Aneke, Curtis (Dexter), James (Edwards), Clarke, Buck, Newby, Harvey, Williams (Grant), Geary, Jack, Solomon. Subs not used: Baker, Payne.
