Bracknell bolster engine room

By Darrell Freeland

Defensive midfielder Keith Newby becomes the third midfielder to join Bracknell Town as manager Byron Walton revamps the heart of his side ahead of next season.

Newby was captain of Hemel Hempstead Town whilst Walton was in charge and his other former clubs include Yeading, where he was included the squad who played Newcastle United in the F.A. Cup.

Walton said: “Keith is a defensive player who kicks anything that moves. With him, Rory and Billy in the midfield, I believe we will have the best midfield in the division”

In other news, defender Bradley Edmunds and striker Dean Thomas have committed to staying with the Robins in The Southern League, though John Swift has left as he seeks regular first team football.

Jamie McClurg is training with Fleet Town and unless circumstances dramatically change, he will not be returning to Bracknell next season.
