Fourteen straight wins for Satsumas

May 08, 2008

Wokingham & Emmbrook Youth 2 Alton Town 1

Wokingham and Emmbrook youth team recorded yet another victory, making it 14 straight wins after their penultimate Allied Counties fixture.

A strong Alton team were determined to try to dent Wokingham’s Championship celebrations and from the kick off they showed great commitment and took an early lead that they held until halftime.

Wokingham came out in the second half a different side and had Alton were penned back for long periods.

The equaliser came when Nick Bateman’s corner was headed powerfully home by Jono Mackenzie.

Wokingham continued to press forward and were nearly caught out by Alton. However, they finally got their reward when a superb passing move saw Alex Walton’s right wing cross was touched on by Sean Watson for David Bellis to fire home.

The win was yet another superb result by a team who have shown great quality all season.
