Some of the borough's finest athletes helped Great Britain beat Japan in the ladies hockey last night.
Captain Kate Walsh, from Twyford, had to be helped off the pitch at the Riverbank Arena within the Olympic Park, after she was stuck in the face with a hockey stick.
Helen Richardson, also from Twyford, helped set up two goals but also left the field early after being hit in the knee with a ball.
Teammate and Reading Hockey Club player Alex Danson scored two goals to help the hosts claim a 4-0 win.
The team take on Korea tomorrow.
