TV stars bag a bargain at antiques centre
December 03, 2008
Celebrities from the world of film and television put their bartering skills to the test in Barkham last week as they looked to bag a bargain or two for charity.
The crew from the popular BBC One competition Bargain Hunt descended on the village to film a celebrity episode of the show from Barkham Antiques Centre and Tea Rooms in Barkham Street.
The show, fronted by presenter Tim Wonnocott, saw two teams, which included actors Timothy Christopher and Lysette Anthony and experts from the world of antiques, spend last Wednesday scouring through the centre’s products and memorabilia.
Both teams were given £300 to find any antiques they thought can go on and make a profit at auction, with all money from the charity version of the show going to good causes.
Bargain Hunt is aired weekdays on BBC One at 12.15pm.
