Prime location in town for new newsagents
December 29, 2008
Another new business has opened in Wokingham this week and is hoping to provide a key service to the office workers of the town.
In Town News opened on Wednesday in Broad Street and owner Vish Dhiri, 28, is delighted to have a shop in the town after stumbling upon the unit by chance.
Mr Dhiri already has a branch of the business in Reading Road in Winnersh and was coming in to Wokingham to do his banking when he spotted the empty unit.
He moved quickly and took a lease on the unit at the end of September, on the birthday of his wife Bejal, 27, who he runs the business with.
Mr Dhiri, who commutes in to Wokingham six days a week from his home in West London, said: “I was walking through Wokingham and spotted the empty unit in the perfect location.
“I was looking to expand the business anyway and saw it.
“We’re really looking for the lunchtime market in Wokingham.
“There are a lot of people working in the town who come out of the office to get their lunch.
“We will be selling a range of snacks and fresh sandwiches.
“For us, it is all about the customer.
“We are a family run business and if you don’t focus on customer needs, you don’t get the cash in the till.”
The shop, which also sells The Wokingham Times, will open from 7am to 6.30pm from Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 5pm on Sunday.
