Shute End opens to all traffic

Shute End opened to all traffic yesterday afternoon.
Water mains replacement works finished two weeks ahead of schedule on the road, marking the end of disruptive road closures in the town centre.
Last month Broad Street was closed as part of the £2 million project and re-opened four weeks ahead of schedule.
South East Water is continuing construction in Matthewsgreen Road and Toutley Road.
Work to install the final section of pipeline in Plough Lane is expected to start on Monday and take eight weeks to complete.

We moan about the increased traffic during the school run yet we do little to make it safer for people to leave the car at home.

They were inconvenienced getting to and from work whilst their trade suffered.
Wokingham is a great town with cheapish and convenient parking. There is still some 30 minute free carparking in the very town centre - Broad Street, Rose Street and Peach Street.
You can't do that in Reading or Bracknell.
I went to Reading yesterday and paid £6.80 (I think) for just over 3 hours in Queen's Road carpark. You won't feel ripped off in Wokingham,
