Chimney fire at home in Spencers Wood

A chimney caught fire as homeowners attempted to warm themselves up.
A fire crew from Wokingham was called out to the home in Hyde End Road, Spencers Wood at 8pm yesterday (Monday).
Crew Manager Russell Gascoyne said: "Chimney fires are very common at this time of year and this one wasn't severe.
"We reduced the temperature in the chimney by putting rods attached to hoses up there and it was fine."
