Twenty-seven extra homes for Sandford Farm

March 15, 2013

Permission has been granted for 27 homes to be added to the Sandford Farm development.

The plans were given the go-ahead by Wokingham Borough Council’s planning committee last Wednesday, bringing the total number of homes to 495.

Keith Rogers, team leader for highway development at the council, said the extra homes would only take the total to three properties more than a planning inspector had approved on appeal for the wider development, an increase that could be coped with by the planned roads.

What the article doesn't tell us is how many of the extra homes are "affordable". Unless the council is making some provision for a suitable bus service each of the new houses will probably need two cars.

Oh, well, if it's only two more houses than had been approved, then that's okay. Why not knock-up another three? Five? Twenty?

"an increase that could be coped with by the planned roads" - that are currently unable to cope.

Seriously. I despair.
