Sonning-based commentator Tony Gubba dies

Sonning-based sports commentator Tony Gubba has died aged 69, after a short illness.

He was most recently heard commentating on ITV's Dancing on Ice, but was most well-known for his work on BBC's Match of the Day.

In his career the versatile commentator called a range of sports including golf, tennis, bobsleigh and darts and commentated on the summer and winter Olympics and every football World Cup between 1974 and 2006.

   RIP Tony. A familiar voice is always welcome when commentating, and Tony was one of the greats. My condolences to the family he leaves.
