Three days of road closures in Earley

By Linda Fort
March 05, 2013

Traffic will be restricted in Earley for four days in March to allow Scottish and Southern Energy to dismantle overhead power lines.

Roads affected are Robindale Avenue between its junctions with Finch Road and Sutcliffe Avenue, Hillside Road from Roman Way to Silverdale Road, Dunaways Close from Hillside Road right along its length and Gipsy Lane between Meadow Road and Silverdale Road.

The restrictions will only be in effect while road closure signs are in place and the four roads will not all be affected at the same time.

The traffic restriction order will come into operation on Monday and it is hoped the work will finish on Friday, March 8.

The temporary closures will not be in place during the morning and evening peaks.

Access to properties and businesses within the boundary of the closures will be maintained.

Based on previous work carried out by this company, expect an extra 30 days...

Wonderful. Just when we were getting used to the congestion easing from various unmanned traffic lights stationed at unmanned roadworks in the area, we get to have some more. Yay.

The phasing seems to have been changed yet again at the Shinfield traffic lights as well, sending the whole place into gridlock once again. Great work.
