Fire engine lover makes hoax call

A young boy was given a stern talking to when he called 999 to see a fire engine.

The child raised alarm when he hung-up on emergency service operators after asking for a fire crew to be sent to his home in Freshfield Close, Lower Earley.

A team from Wokingham Road explained to the boy that 999 calls should only be made in emergencies after he let on he had dialled the number because he liked fire engines.
