Three-car smash closes Barkham Road

By Becky Barnes
February 28, 2013

A woman was taken to hospital with neck injuries following a three-car smash in Barkham Road.

The driver was cut free and taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital following a collision between her black Vauxhall Astra, a Volkswagen and a maroon Proton at 6pm yesterday (Wednesday).

Bracknell firefighter Steve Blackman, who attended the scene, said: "We took her out via the roof on a stretcher as she was complaining of neck pains."

The road was closed for more than an hour while fire crews from Bracknell and Wokingham rescued the woman, thought to be in her 40s.

Police and ambulance also attended the scene and the road reopened at 7.45pm.
