Find out more about Arborfield transport plans at forum this weekBy Laura Herbert
February 18, 2013
Transport issues relating to major development in Arborfield will be discussed at a community forum next week.
People living in the area can find out more about Wokingham Borough Council’s work to assess the potential highways impact of the redevelopment of Arborfield Garrison and the surrounding area.
The work will alert developers to hot spot areas they need to address when submitting planning applications.
No planning applications have been submitted for the Arborfield developments, but when one is it will contain a Transport Assessment setting out how the developer aims to ensure new homes do not cause additional traffic problems and ways to encourage walking, cycling and public transport use. The council is committed to creating a relief road around Arborfield Cross, and details about work to review potential routes will be discussed during the Arborfield Community Transport Forum on Wednesday, February 20.
The forum will be chaired by Councillor Dianne King and attended by senior highways officers and representatives from the Arborfield Garrison developers’ consortium
The forum takes place at Arborfield Garrison Community Centre, in Princess Marina Drive, from 7.30pm.
