February 13, 2013
The teenager who died on the A33 on Monday night has been named locally as Matthew Seddon.
Man dies during A33 police pursuit
Mr Seddon, 19, has not yet been formally identifed by the coroner's office.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is investigating the incident following a referral from Thames Valley Police after a red Ford Fiesta, which was being pursued by police for failing to stop, collided with the central reservation.
Six police vehicles, including one dog van and an armed response vehicle, were involved in the incident.
The Fiesta was travelling along the southbound carriageway of the A33, it then performed a u-turn and was travelling in a northbound direction when the collision occurred at around 11.25pm.
Mr Seddon, who was the sole occupant of the car, was thrown into the road and hit by at least one of the pursuing police vehicles. He died at the scene.
A post mortem and formal identification are due to take place later today.
IPCC Commissioner Mike Franklin said: “This is a terribly tragic incident which has resulted in a young man’s death and my thoughts are with his family and all those who knew him at this very difficult time.
“IPCC investigators were at the scene of the collision on Tuesday and this careful and painstaking approach will continue throughout the investigation which will be rigorous in establishing the circumstances surrounding this collision.
“I would urge anyone who can provide information to contact to contact the IPCC by email on readingreliefroad@ipcc.gsi.gov.uk or call freephone 0800 096 9078.”
Anyone with information has also been asked to call the police non-emergency number 101.

I've seen the stinger deployedon the A33 at night more than once I use to work along side it and security camera's use to be able to view the road Many nights I've seen car's racing one another at 2 - 3 am at night up and down the daul carriageway.. And several Times the police have halted cars with a stinger along there.

You clearly have no idea about firearms tactics in the UK. Probably best not to pretend that you do. Just a thought....

Either your just dumb & dont know nothing or your just a pr** Police do shoot out tyres in UK just like USA. If they think that the vehicle is not going to stop then they will do whatever is necessary. They get pleasure at doing so!
