By Laura Herbert
February 13, 2013

Plans are under way to create a hostel for the homeless in Wokingham.

The Wokingham Homeless Project estimates there are around 30 people sleeping rough in the town and plans to build a hostel and get it up and running for winter 2014.

The project is run by mental health campaigner Pam Jenkinson who has received support from the Samaritans and also several volunteers.

The committee is now looking at possible locations and funding.

Anyone who would like to make a donation to the project should send a cheque made payable to Wokingham Homeless Project c/o Pam Jenkinson, Wokingham Crisis House, Station Approach, Wokingham, RG40 2AP.
