Nominate your unsung heroes in Woodley

By Jon Nurse
January 10, 2013

Nominations are being sought for unsung heroes in Woodley to receive deserved recognition for their work.

Woodley Town Council is inviting people to put names forward for the town’s 2013 Citizens Awards.

The awards were introduced in 2001 as recognition for work done by kind-hearted people in Woodley.

Nominees could be involved in caring for children or for elderly, sick or disabled people, someone who does voluntary work or work with young people, or a person who is simply a good neighbour.

The council is particularly welcoming nominations for young people, whose good works it feels are often overlooked.

The town mayor will present the awards at a Civic Reception at The Oakwood Centre on Thursday, April 25.

Forms are available from The Oakwood Centre, Bulmershe, Woodford Park leisure centre, and Woodley Library, or from the council on (0118) 969 0356.

Completed entries should be returned to Woodley Town Council, Citizens Awards, The Oakwood Centre, Headley Road, Woodley, RG5 4JZ.

The closing date is Monday, March 4.
